We work with Wix on a daily basis and keep a close eye on all its developments. So when new articles suddenly appeared under the name “Wix Vibe”, we at Yonglo naturally dove right in. Vibe hasn’t officially launched yet, so this isn’t a review but rather a first look: what does this new platform promise, and how practical might it turn out to be when working with real clients?
What is Wix Vibe?
According to the documentation, the ambition is high: “build a professional website with a single chat prompt, without any technical knowledge.” After that, you can further refine the site in the editor, again through chat. You start in a demo mode and switch to edit mode once you want more control. In short: Wix Vibe aims to lower the barrier to building websites even further.
Where do the opportunities and challenges lie?
A chat-first approach sounds accessible, but it also raises questions. Within teams, it’s crucial that changes are easy to track and hand over. According to the documentation, a timeline is planned, but the question remains: how clear will this be in a real workflow?
In addition, there are several practical points that could impact working with Vibe:
In edit mode you cannot adjust multiple elements at once. This means more separate chat requests, which can slow things down.
Dynamic content is not edited directly in the editor, but via the CMS. Logical in terms of structure, but it does add extra steps.
A rollback of a previous site version does not restore your CMS collections—something clients are likely to stumble over.
There’s a limit on the number of chat requests per day. Fine for hobby use, but less convenient during a busy sprint or deadline.
Rules per device (desktop, mobile, tablet) are not always consistent. For example, a color change applies everywhere unless the AI sets it differently.
As someone nicely put it: “It’s like driving a car that’s fantastic in a straight line,
but every turn feels a bit nerve-wracking.”
And what about Base44?
Wix previously acquired Base44, but this is not mentioned in the Vibe documentation. This raises the question of whether Vibe will incorporate its features, or whether the two products will continue to exist side by side. For now, they seem to be separate solutions, although overlap may emerge in the future.

Conclusion: should you be excited about this?
Our impression: cautiously optimistic. Vibe can be a great way to quickly put together a first version of a website and then refine it. But once you dive into the details, you’ll notice that you don’t always have full control.
For agencies and teams, those details are crucial: mode switches, device rules, AI limits, and CMS constraints can create friction under pressure. That’s why we currently see Vibe more as a promising direction than as a proven solution..
What does this mean for you?
Do you want to start working on smart prompts that translate your brand and structure without running into roadblocks later? At Yonglo, we already help you with that today. And as soon as Wix Vibe officially goes live, we’ll be happy to test together whether this AI tool not only impresses, but also truly adds value in practice.
